An excerpt from an email received recently:
A few weeks ago, while getting ready for work I heard a familiar
voice over the radio. It was the confident yet reassuring voice of Dr.
Baxter Willis. The same Dr. Baxter Willis that eased my son Tyler's nerves
(as well as mine) before his surgery. Tyler broke his femur June 5, 2006,
and although he was only ten at the time, if there was any opportunity for a
new system that would make the ordeal less painful we would have welcomed
it. Recovery was amazingly fast for Tyler due to his young age but much
credit must be given to Dr. Willis and the staff at CHEO. On closing I would
like say "great job" to you Doc & Woody towards your efforts.

Cadence came on as our first Project Partners this year and raised an amazing $50,000 to buy an Operating Table and some costly Cardiovascular Surgical Instrument Trays. They out performed the rest of us in just six weeks!!! Thank you guys!
Below you'll find out more about the great people at Cadence and their efforts.

Doc and Woody accept $50,000 worth of cake for C.H.E.O. at the Cadence B.B.Q.
Cadence Design Systemsis pleased to be able to support great localcauses through our Community Involvement Program, theSpirit of Stars and Strikes (SOSS). Cadence has a long history of giving back to the community at our Corporate Headquarters site in San Jose, California. Starting in the early 1990's Cadence has hosted a large fundraising event called Stars and Strikes. Stars and Strikes is a big annual bowling tournament where Cadence's employees, customers and competitors all come together to raise money for San Jose area charities. A few years ago Cadence pushed the "spirit" of Stars and Strikes out to the local offices as part of a global community involvement program.
The purpose of the Cadence Community Involvement Program is to positively impact the communities where we live and work. We do this by building relationships, inspiring philanthropy, and promoting goodwill both inside and outside the company.
As a global community partner, Cadence and our dedicated employees share their time, talents, and resources with organizations and programs that make a difference in local communities.
The Spirit of Stars and Strikes is all about giving back to our communities. Local employees identify the recipients of the annual fundraising activities and then everyone gets involved to do something to help make the fundraising activitiy successful. This years employee fundraising activities at Cadence in Ottawa included:
