PRIVATE PARTY NETS BIG CASH 

 

Corey and Connor Grinnell threw a party for all their friends in Manotick. The band My Psycho Ex rocked the yard. They brought in meat and kegs of beer and asked everyone to pony up some cash for the Doc and Woody Fund.  Corey brought us a cheque for 905 dollars.  Thanks a million guys. 

 

 

 

CHEO BLUES BOAT SET SAILED TO SUCCESS  

 

The first ever Doc and Woody Blues Boat sailed August 14 (Thursday) on the Ottawa River aboard Capital Cruise lines new 3 decker boat the "Empress of Ottawa".  The cruise featured Canada's Top Blues Touring band "J.W. Jones". J.W. is catologued at the Rock and Roll Hall of fame in Cleveland and is considered one of the best young guitar players in blues.

 

JW rocked and everyone had a blast.  Total?  $4,000 raised.  Thank you to all who came out!

 

 

 

PARADIDDLES FOR THE KIDS 

St. John's Music put on a drum clinic and donated a portion from each sign up to the Doc and Woody Fund.

Thank you guys for the $500 cheque!

 

 

GOLFER HOLES ONE FOR CHEO! 

 

Jeff Gray got a hole-in-one on the 3rd hole of the Canadian Golf and Country Clubs west 18 July 21 during the Doc and Woody tournament for CHEO.  He won a brand new bass boat from Orleans Boat World and Sports.

The Carleton University Cheerleaders helped out again this year for a total of $12,000!!!!

1st POKER RUN a HUGE SUCCESS! 

 

Bruce Mcaffery and the terrific staff at Ottawa Dodge put on their first Poker Run. Over 200 motorcycle enthusiasts took part in the ride.  The band Random played as the riders finished up the run and enjoyed some BBQ at Ottawa Dodge.  Thanks to all sponsors, volunteers and riders for a great start to our year with $12,507.08 !!! WOW!

 

ROCK REUNION HELPS THE FUND

 

80's metal guys FIST reunited for two awesome shows at Greenfields in Barrhaven in early June.

They offered to give a dollar from every ticket sold to the Doc and Woody Fund.  FIST blew the doors off the place and sent us a cheque for $500.00.   Thanks guys!

 

 

 

 

DOC AND WOODY APPEARED ON TELETHON: Doc and Woody hosted an hour of the CHEO Telethon. They presented a cheque on behalf of CHEZ listeners and all of the terrific organizations and individuals who have help us over the last year. $52,317.55. We will now start from scratch...

  

ANOTHER 210: The employees of Pylon Electronics Inc had a BBQ and collected monies to donate to our Doc and Woody Fund. Gayle Bennett tells sends us $210.00. Thank you Pylon.

 

 

ANOTHER 300: The Riverside Pub (3673 Riverside dr.) and The Swan on the Rideau (2730 River rd) recently help the 2nd annual Pub Curling Challenges. The Riverside Pub won! And so did we. The participants from both pubs raised $300 and are donating to the Doc and Woody Fund. Thank you!
