The 1972 hit ‘Listen To The Music’ by The Doobie Brothers is already a heart warming and fun song that lifts you up every time you hear it. Now Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons, John McFee and John Cowan have put together a stripped down, lighter version of the classic.

Each part was recorded from their respective homes, there’s an absence of percussion or drums, and former Doobie Brothers’ keyboardist and singer Michael McDonald wasn’t present for the video. He’s been doing his own at home projects like taking part in the Tiny Desk Concert series.

As exciting as it would have been to see The Doobie Brothers during their 50th anniversary reunion tour, here is their infectious acoustic rendition of their song ‘Listen To the Music’ fresh off of their 2020 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
