Sir Paul McCartney is ending a 40 year long wait to complete his McCartney trilogy after his last solo album McCartney II was released in 1980. Today (October 21st), McCartney announced his new album McCartney III will be coming to us December 11th.

This will round out the McCartney album trilogy that started back in April of 1970. This solo project of McCartney’s is separate from his studio album releases as well because McCartney takes the term ‘solo album’ quite literally by writing, producing and performing every instrument on McCartney I and II, including the upcoming McCartney III.
